Ed Hidden is a graphic designer, photographer, code-monkey, blogger, cubicle dweller and motorcyclist (often referred to by his online moniker: MotoEd). While interested in photography for about half his life, he focused on it as a career 4 years ago. Primarily the goal is shooting stock photography, but has been known to shoot some wheeled sporting events, portraits and anything that tells a story.

I'm trying to find where you are commenting on the fully integrated? I"m not sure where you areferring to that.

You would need a powersource to run this unit outside of the studio, whether that is a Vagabong or a wall outlet. With Ringflashes, many of them require a PowerPack system that contains the flash capacitors (not to be confused with flux capacitors... lol) like a Hensel, or ProFoto, or BronColor Ringflash. These units require a floor pack to power their ringflahes at all times.

The ABR integrates all the capacitors and such into the light itself... so it requires only a plug into an outlet of somekind.

Sorry for the confusion there.

And Jim... I'm the easiest one available when I want to test some scenario out. I'm not really that vain! ;-)

What do mean when you say the abr 800 is fully integrated? Is it that I will not require a separate power source like the ab vagabond 300 to power it outside the studio?

You are the first photographer I have seen where you are in the photos like 75% of the time, why is that? Is there really a lack of good photo subjects in the world?
