Ed Hidden is a graphic designer, photographer, code-monkey, blogger, cubicle dweller and motorcyclist (often referred to by his online moniker: MotoEd). While interested in photography for about half his life, he focused on it as a career 4 years ago. Primarily the goal is shooting stock photography, but has been known to shoot some wheeled sporting events, portraits and anything that tells a story.

I heard on your show too that you were there just after we returned. I wish I had known ahead of time, we could have arranged to meet. I was at the istockphoto booth most of the day on Saturday. Friday was hit or miss...

Thank you for the comments on the show... I get to catch your show as well, but lately I've been missing a lot of shows since my podcatcher seems to be expanding at a horrible rate. (and with the way work has been lately, I'm lucky to make it through one podcast a day.. oy vey)

A home studio can be fun. And with the amount of equipment flooding the market. They all want a piece of "us"... the serious amatuer photographers (or semi-pros... or budget pros). We are making up a huge segment of the market these days. And since people are investing in DSLRs... the next step seems to be lighting.

We have a number of reviews coming up on various types of gear with full spec reviews so hopefully we'll be able to help answer the "what to get" question a little better, or at least make everyone more informed consumers!

Thanks for the note and the comments and keep up the great work on your show!

Hi Ed,

My cohost Scott and I were roaming the floor of PPE the entire show. I stopped by the booth to see if you were there and say hi. I was sorry that I didn't find you. Well, maybe some other time. I've been listening to your show since you made a comment on our blog quite a while ago. You guys do a stellar job.

I want to start a home studio, but there is so much gear out there and everybody has such different approaches. It is hard to know where to start. I'm still thinking it all over. One of these days I'll take the plunge.

Keep making the shows and I'll keep listening. thanks.
