6 Questions with Ed Hidden @ MyersonPhoto.com

As part of my “playing catch-up” on my blogging, I was interviewed by my co-istocker (and good friend) Ethan Myerson on his blog. Ethan has a great series going over there called 6 questions. As I know he is incredibly busy… I hope he can find the time to get some new blood on there. […]

Model Shoot: Jereme Stewart

Jereme Stewart is a co-worker of mine that needed some new images for his modeling portfolio. He has one of those strong jawlines that you want a masculine male model to have. This week was the “scruffy” look. Next week we’ll be shooting the “cleaned up” look for Jereme.
Check out more shots from Jereme’s […]

Dan Couto

On the LightSource podcast, we had Dan Couto on the most recent show. What an amazing talent. I’m sure purists will have some critique on his images, but I love his illustrative style.
Early in my “artistic life”, I was going to be a comic book illustrator. That never happened but I was a technical illustrator […]

Liteboxes

Ed Hidden photography is available for license on istockphoto.com (and soon to be GettyImages.com) The following image topics are grouped into these liteboxes to make finding the right image as easy as possible.

ShutUp&Shoot - [ SUAS! ]

Yes, SUAS! It’s the new mantra. A few of my photography friends and I were looking to inspire each other. So we have decided to convince each other to get off our butts and just shoot something already. We talked about a central site, or a flickr group or something to keep stuff localized. But […]

Judging a Photo Competition

Tuesday evening I was asked to judge another “projected image competition” for the Harrisburg Camera Club. This is the digital extension of their slide/print competitions of days of film. Actually doing the judging is a quite an experience. You are seated in the front row of a room of about 40 people behind you. The […]

Mystery: What’s over there

Did some playing in the studio last night. Here is a little taste of it. This is still a draft… not quite ready for istockphoto yet.

What do you think? Have that “Nancy Drew/Scooby Doo” kids snooping around type of feel to it?
Next shoot: Bring fog machine to be able to see the beam from the […]

What makes a good photograph?

It seems like everybody and their brother loves to quote about photography. Why not me? Saw this one and loved it.
“A good photographer is one that makes the viewer so aware of the subject, that they are unaware of the print”
- Kodak Brochure from 70s

Reboot in Action (or Reboot Inaction?)

Well, I’m trying some new things here on EdHidden.com. I’m working on changing the focus and making the blog more “secondary” to my photography. I mean, that’s the main reason you are here, (aren’t you? I hope so). So, some things will be shifting around. Maybe I’ll see if I can get the blogging bug […]

Cost of fuel directly proportional to an “Impulse buy”?

I was talking the other day with a friend about how it’s funny how impulse buys have changed over the years. It used to be $19.95 was the magic price point. Anything over that was “hmmm… I need to think about that… maybe next week”. Now it seems like the latest gadgets are $50 or […]
