Can you hear me now?

Yeah, I know this model (JamieT) looks remarkebly like the Verizon guy. Even more so when it’s repeating the line. (haha).

Photographer Fired for Altering Colors

I just read in the PDNewswire email from PDN magazine that photographer, Patrick Schneider, was fired for adjusting a photo in the Charlotte Observer. The photo in question was a silhouette of a fireman with a bright orange sky.
I’ve read a number of stories where photojournalists have done editting in post-production and have changed […]

New Favorite Image - Extreme Dieting!

License this image at istockphoto.com
I’ve been playing with this idea in my moleskin for a while now. I love the concept of it and it’s one that hits home these days it seems. I have a lot of work to produce in my moleskin that I feel like I need a week off work to […]

Old Hobbies Die Hard

I spent the majority of my life on two wheels. I started out on bicycles and then began riding motorcycles at a young age. Shortly there after, I got into flat track racing. I did that for a number of years and even made it to the expert pro level. Although I was never a […]

The Cycle of Things…

Found on ModelMayhem: Jeff Cohn of x-pose.net had this to say to a friend who was grumbling about what digital photography was doing to film…

“Dinosaurs don’t like the idea that they’re about to become extinct, that’s why they always look so pissed off on tv”

My Opinions on ACDSee Pro (v8.1)

I recently participated in a trial test of ACDSee Pro on iStockphoto.com. In addition to my participation in the forums, iStockphoto ran the following piece that summed up my opinions on the application and it’s features with Photography Management (reprinted with permission.)
The Test
Let’s start with a test, shall we? Say you are updating your portfolio […]

PhotoCast - Photography Podcast #004 - Finding Your Style

In this episode of EdHidden.com’s Photography Podcast, I try something new by recording on the road. I need to do something to get shows out on a more regular basis and maybe this system will help. Let me know your comments on what you think of the quality of it. I’m still “monkeying with microphone […]

What’s your workflow?

There is an interesting thread in the StudioLighting.net LightSource Podcast Flickr Discussion Group (boy, how’s that for a mouthful?). RicDiaz posted a thread about workflow and asked “what is your workflow”?
I have been looking at refining my current workflow this year. As I shoot more, I find that finding my images that I need to […]

Lensbaby 2.0 Review - Looking different.

The thing I always love about photography is taking a different view on the world around you. It’s finding that way of looking at things that someone else has missed. If your standard collection of lenses has left you feeling blah, check out Lensbaby 2.0.
This lens is based on the view camera technique where you […]

Ashley at night

I thought I’d post another shot of Ashley that I worked with last week. I tried a little bit of a cross-process, desaturated, high contrast approach to it. I think it makes for an interesting photograph.
Ashley can be found on www.modelmayhem.com.

Quick aside about Model Mayhem: I want to thank the developers of that site. I […]
