Edventures 05: Swatara State Park
Swatara State Park has always been one of my favorite places to ride. I love the flowy nature of the trails, and why not, the trail system was built for mountain bikers, by mountain bikers. There are only a few long slow climbs in the park. For the most part, most of the elevation gain seems to be where you roll along the contour and do downhill for about 10 feet and then up for 20… so it becomes this sort of “wave contour riding” type ride.
Now this year I focused more on mtn biking than any of my other hobbies and I usually get to “Swatty” maybe a couple times a year, but since I was riding more I was looking forward to revisiting a park I’ve enjoyed so much.
